How SPI started

In 2011, SPI President Angela Corrieri was having dinner with a former President of PVA (Paralyzed Veterans of America), Michael Delaney and Mrs. Delaney, in Maryland.

Michael pointed to the high unemployment that our Military Veterans were experiencing.  Angela, a software developer and a veteran of Silicon Valley, knew that when skilled people can’t obtain jobs, we create jobs by starting and growing businesses.

The next day Angela brought a few ethical, hard working people together, started SPI, welcomed AFCEA and other sponsors, and received assistance from Maryland’s Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger.

Within 9 months, two Veterans Entrepreneur Programs were delivered near Aberdeen Proving Grounds with the support of initial Sponsor AFCEA, and others.
